Selected work

The work behind the numbers.

Every project here shipped to real users: payment rails moving money across Africa, features serving millions on Reddit, and national identity systems in telecoms. For each one: the stakes, what I did, and what changed.

Kora

Senior QA → Lead QA → QA Manager · Remote · Nov 2021 to Present

Kora is a Lagos-based pan-African payment infrastructure company enabling businesses to accept payments, make payouts, and settle across African payment channels. I built the QA function from zero and now lead a team of 10+ engineers. In payments, every defect touches money, so these projects carried real financial and regulatory stakes.

Cards API on Checkout

API · Web

Kora's Card API on the Checkout platform supports cross-border payments in USD, GHS, NGN, and KES. A failed card transaction is lost revenue for a merchant and lost trust for a customer, so release quality was the headline requirement.

What I did

  • Led the full QA initiative for the Cards API launch
  • Designed the test strategy across functional, regression, and automated coverage
  • Built automation into the CI/CD pipeline with Cypress and GitHub Actions

Impact

95%
test pass rate at launch
<10%
post-deployment bugs

currencies: USD, GHS, NGN, KES

Checkout API load testing

API · Performance

Checkout is the front door for every payment Kora processes. I ran a structured JMeter load test campaign to find out how it behaved under pressure before customers did.

What I did

  • Designed and executed a JMeter load test campaign against the Checkout API
  • Identified critical database errors under load that functional testing could not surface
  • Worked with engineering to resolve the bottlenecks before they reached production scale

Impact

30%
increase in application reliability
0
load-related incidents after the fixes

Identity Verification tool

API · Web

Kora's Identity Verification tool helps merchants reduce fraud risk by validating customer identity across multiple countries. Accuracy here is a compliance requirement, not a nice to have.

What I did

  • Conducted comprehensive testing across Nigeria, South Africa, and Ghana
  • Validated country-specific verification flows and data handling
  • Continued leading QA for the tool through major releases as QA Manager

Impact

3
countries validated end to end

fraud risk for merchants

Virtual Bank Accounts

API · Web

Virtual Bank Accounts let merchants receive payments through dedicated account numbers. I led QA activities across functional testing, regression, and test automation for the feature.

What I did

  • Led functional and regression testing for merchant virtual accounts
  • Built automated coverage into the release cycle
  • Coordinated QA sign-off for each release with product and engineering

Impact

Reliable
merchant payment collection at scale

Building the QA function & AI adoption

People · Process · AI

The meta project: building the QA organisation itself. From zero engineers and spreadsheet test cases to a 10+ person cross-functional team running an AI-driven test management practice, with Mobile Money among the latest major releases shipped under it.

What I did

  • Grew the team from zero to four, then six, then 10+ engineers across three promotions
  • Moved test management from Google Sheets to BrowserStack Test Management
  • Built the automation sub-team on Cypress and Cypress Cloud, BrowserStack, and GitHub Actions, with BrowserStack App Live for mobile testing
  • Introduced AI tooling (Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, ChatGPT, and Cursor) into QA workflows with clear human oversight

Impact

Reddit

Senior QA Engineer · Remote Contractor · Aug 2024 to Sep 2025

Reddit is one of the world's largest online communities. I led QA initiatives across three product teams, ensuring high product quality, seamless user experiences, and efficient release cycles on web, Android, and iOS.

Reddit Pro · Trends tool

Web · Android · iOS

Reddit Pro is a suite of free tools that helps businesses grow their presence on Reddit, engage relevant communities, and track content performance. I owned end-to-end testing and test automation for the feature set, with a focus on the Trends tool.

What I did

  • Prepared comprehensive test plans and scripts in Zebrunner for every feature release
  • Led functional testing for Trends, plus regression and smoke tests across the full Reddit Pro suite
  • Partnered with the automation team to automate the majority of the feature set
  • Ran bug triage and worked directly with developers on issue resolution

Impact

90%
of Reddit Pro features automated
98%
quarterly reduction in critical bugs
95%
fewer post-deployment issues

Profiles · Profile 2.0

Web · Android · iOS

The Profile 2.0 update gave users stronger privacy controls and richer self-expression on their profiles. Getting privacy features wrong is not an option, so QA rigour here directly protected user trust.

What I did

  • Conducted thorough QA on privacy controls and self-expression features
  • Worked with automation engineers to reach full test coverage before rollout
  • Led bug triaging and streamlined issue resolution with developers
  • Proactively identified high-priority issues before production deployment

Impact

100%
successful rollout of all major features
95%
reduction in critical bugs before release
90%
fewer post-deployment bugs

Posters Experience

Web · Android · iOS

The Posters Experience team improves how users create posts on Reddit: text, images, video, polls, links, and AMAs. I led QA for a wide range of features including Post Insights, Scheduled Posts, Rich Text Posts, Community Picker, and Post Copilot.

What I did

  • Led QA for post creation features and optimisations across all three platforms
  • Managed bug triage each sprint to keep deployments disruption free
  • Ran post-deployment testing to catch regressions early
  • Worked with automation engineers to build a comprehensive suite for new features

Impact

97%
critical bug reduction per sprint
92%
fewer reported bugs post-launch
85%
automated coverage for new features

Seamfix

Junior QA Engineer → SQA Lead Engineer · Lagos, Nigeria · Aug 2018 to Oct 2021

Seamfix builds identity and data capture solutions for telecoms and enterprises. I grew from Junior QA Engineer to leading the QA department on national-scale projects where regulatory compliance and data integrity were the baseline, not the goal.

MTN SIM Registration

Android · Web

The SIM registration platform for MTN, one of Africa's largest telecom operators, capturing and verifying subscriber identity data for millions of users under strict regulatory requirements.

What I did

  • Led QA operations across Android and web, covering functional, usability, and security testing
  • Implemented Selenium automation for the web UI and Rest Assured suites for API endpoints
  • Ran JMeter performance testing and resolved critical bottlenecks
  • Tested registration flows for data integrity and user authentication

Impact

15%
application performance improvement
20%

Glo Biosmart

Android · Web

Biometric SIM registration for Globacom, requiring seamless cross-platform functionality and airtight handling of sensitive subscriber data.

What I did

  • Ensured cross-platform functionality and performance across devices and browsers
  • Developed and maintained test plans, cases, and scripts for full coverage
  • Drove proactive bug tracking and resolution in Jira
  • Worked with cross-functional teams on telecom regulatory compliance

Impact

faster bug resolution through proactive triage
80%
cross-functional productivity improvement

Want the full story behind any of these?

I am happy to walk through the test strategies, the trade-offs, and what I would do differently. That conversation is usually more useful than any case study.
